India TV posted a malevolent piece online, crafted in a derogatory language presenting lies, insulting the dignity of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda. Repeatedly using verbal abuse, it grossly violated the basic freedom of press.

On March 2, 2010, a morphed, fake video featuring His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda and an Actress, Ms. Ranjitha, was continuously aired on TV channels. Following this, a trial-by-media ensued, where His character, dignity, reputation and sacrifice for humanity were abused and insulted at every turn. The media attempted to completely sway public opinion with unfounded lies, defaming shows and false news items related to the video and even otherwise. It was followed up by a false rape charge against Paramahamsa Nithyananda, a case with no witness, no victim, and by an unrelated third person. This was the first of its kind in the legal history of India where with no smell of rape in the complaint, an FIR (First Information Report) was registered under section 376. This matter was sensationalised to taint the image of a great icon and hope of Sanatana Hindu Dharma (Hinduism) to seed public hate. The attack was a clear one steered by anti-Hindu forces.
India TV, which has a readership of 8.76 crore people of suburban-rural readers, grossly violates the Freedom of Press and goes beyond the dirty yellow journalism. This article fabricates a dubious story that during a Press Meet, a reporter served a summon to Paramahamsa Nithyananda that He and the temple monastery residents were evading for several months! It was a planned attack by Suvarna TV when editor Ajit Hanumakkanavar, who had entered with a gang of hired assassins and tried to hand over an unidentified package to His Divine Holiness.
This India TV’s article is showing a planned character assassination. Repeatedly, verbal abusal is used, such as referring to a co-conspirator as Paramahamsa Nithyananda’s “ex-boyfriend”, or reporting that a journalist’s indecent behavior “riled” up Paramahamsa Nithyananda.
