Nithyananda Peetam Trishulam Aadheenam, a temple and monastery complex in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, South India, was gifted to and inaugurated by His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda on 9th July 2007 on the auspicious day of Guru Poornima (the only day in the year that the Guru accepts gifts from His devotees). His Divine Holiness’ vision for Trishulam Aadheenam is to serve the community with a temple, Gurukul, hospital and daily Aanadhaan (free food). In the center of the biggest city in Tamil Nadu, Trishulam Aadheenam was destined to become the largest center of Hinduism in the whole state.
Nevertheless, as a highly valued land, right next to the airport in Chennai, many powerful people had their eyes on this land, amongst which Sun TV network, Tamilnadu’s most popular television channel that 3 years later in 2010 was part of the conspiracy against His Divine Holiness by repeatedly broadcasting a morphed video, assassinating His divine holiness’ character. At the time in 2007, they found a mobster in the hands of Hindu extremist militant outfit groups, named Krishnan, and his family prepared to occupy the land and paid locals to harass anyone else entering the property. Ten years later, in 2017, a group of monastic members and disciples of Paramahamsa Nithyananda started living on the land and building the basic infrastructures and a temple with deities. Continuously they were facing physical and verbal attacks and sexual assaults, in spite of which they powerfully continued to construct. His Divine Holiness said: “They might throw stones at us, we will pick the same stones and build aadheenams out of it”.

Trishulam Aadheenam Trishulam Aadheenam is the culmination of a saintly woman’s dream and her granddaughter’s sacrifice. Annapurani achi acquired the land in 1958, and envisioned it would become a temple to Sadashiva.
