Suvarna News Channel life-attack on Paramahamsa Nithyananda: Police Atrocities on Female Hindu Monks
On 7th June 2012, Suvarna News Channel editor Ajit Hanamakkanavar led a malicious life-attack on His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda, which was borne by the Sanyasis (monks). In the attack, the female Sanyasis were ruthlessly man-handled by the State police. On 8th June 2012, during the morning satsang (morning spiritual discourse), His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda spoke about this malicious attack of Suvarna News Channel. He very clearly explained that the attack was to drive Him and the sangha out of Karnataka. He categorically stated, “We will continue to serve Karnataka with all the spiritual activities.”

Media-Instigated Violence in Aadheenam – A Ruse for the Second Illegal Arrest of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda
Transcript of Video -Till now there was no one who complained against Nithyananda regarding sexual assault. The previous disciple Lenin karuppan only has done complaint against Nithyananda.At this stage, a woman has done a sexual complaint on Nithyananda which has started a big problem.

Nithyananda has been crowned the junior pontiff of Madurai Aadeenam; on him the American citizen and the previous disciple called Aarti rao have given sexual complaint. Nithyananda have personally conducted in 2005 a program called Ananda spurana to a group of people.
During that time, by Nithyananda I have been sexually troubled for 40 times.
Nithyananda swami was my God and Guru for 6 years. My Name is Aarti rao, but in charge sheet I have changed the name, in order to safeguard my family, Karnataka CID has changed my name to AMALA. Because I have many Harassment and threat I am talking before you wearing this mask. I did my mechanical engineering in India and did my Masters degree in USA with scholarship and started working there.
I got married to a man whom I liked. We started living happily. In any family or marriage there will be problems, like wise I had misunderstanding with my husband. So I went search of spirituality. I came and joined in Nithyananda Mission because of the Interest I had in Spirituality and social service. I started involving in the mission work day and night.
I will show a special way to attain Jeevan Mukti and convinced me and he started abusing me sexually. It was shocking to me. He said it was a spiritual union, uniting with God. Like how Radha and krisha was, we are divine beloved, he convinced me and he said only when I accept this I can grow spiritually.
Not only me, there are many who are more educated than me and those who are elder than me, the people who are around me believed and did what he said.
When I am like this in 2009 a person called Vinay bharatwaj spoke to me and said, like you many women and even Men Nithyananda sexually abuses. I couldn’t believe it. In 2009, Dharmananada, Lenin karuppan, He also said the same thing to me. In the name of enlightenment and jeevan mukti, Nithyananda is cheating many women. I couldn’t believe it.
I said this is not lust or sex, its spiritual path and spiritual union, I was defending Nithyananda.
Lenin denied all this and challenged me, you yourself verify.
I was personal care taker for Nithyananda and hence I have also been his personal secretary.
I was given permission to clean his room in 2009. I want to prove Vinay and lenin wrong, for that I got a hidden camera in an air purifier and asked permission to Nithynanda if I can keep the purifier in his room, after keeping the air purifier for 2 days, Dec 23 to Dec 25 it was in his room, I took it out and watched the video that was recorded hoping that what I believed of swamiji will be true. I was in for a huge shock. I could not believed what I saw, if the same video have been brought by someone else I would not have believed, I would have believed this is morphing or graphics only. Because to that depth I trusted Nithyananda but after seeing that video my belief shattered. They have destroyed my life completely but why I have come before you are, like mine your life should not get spoiled. Just By knowing what has happened to me, you can save yourself. Trust in God but be very careful when you are choosing Guru. Those who talk good are not Guru. Those who live by his teaching are Guru.
For me or my parents or any of the witnesses, whatever happens, the reason will be Nithyananda and his supporters.

This is a false complaint.
The lady who has given a false statement against me, all kinds of false statements. Suddenly yesterday.
First thing when it is pending in front of the court, it is subjudised. You can’t make any statement in media. She made it which is illegal. I have never spoken about it in public because I wanted to respect the court but now because this lady is trying to abuse me, put me in front of media trial. I have to come to the public giving the self explanation.
This lady was telling in 2004 or 2005, she was convinced and made to do some sexual favours 40 times spread over 5 years. Very funny.
This lady is carrying highly contagious sexually transmitted disease, like HIV it is called herpes 11. Since 2004. She came to the ashram itself to get healed from that disease.
That disease will be transmitted just through saliva, you don’t even need body fluid, you don’t even need a physical intercourse for that disease to get transmitted, just saliva is enough for the disease to be transmitted and she is saying she had 40 times physical relationship with me.
All I said to the police is please take my blood and test, you will see don’t have the disease; she has the disease, that solves the whole issue. It’s a false complaint, is a false charge. It’s a false statement she is making.
I want to tell you, the lady who is evading, 3 police, Karnataka summons, Tamil nadu CBCID police, US investigation. She is appearing in media giving a secret tape and giving the false acquisition about me, and see the timing. She thinks she can create one more scandal.
How we need to face the false allegations and this false rumours and scandals. Our people are standing strong and we will win.
In order to keep full stop for this sex problem, he got into new problem which is like quick sand.
Will he come back from this quick sand, we will see.
Next to Bangalore, in Bidadi, he responded to the interview given in the Karnataka channel, he called meeting with the journalist on June 7th.
In July 2010, CBI SP yogappa along with their staff went to Chennai and took statement of Ranjita. In that not even single allegation on Lenin and aarti rao, why there is so many allegation now.

Reporter: The person who was coming with the summon was not given entry into the ashram.
Swamiji: Then they have to do the legal course of action, legal proceedings.
In that, when the question was asked on the complaints on him and on the summon issue
There erupted a manhandling between the journalist and disciple of Nithyananda.

Regarding this manhandling, in Bidadi police station, both the parties have given complaints on each other.
In this situation, in a room in the ashram, all the Nithayanda women devotees were giving interview, during that time Nava Nirmana sena entered in to the room suddenly and raised slogan against Nithyananda again man handling started to happen.

This is Nithya Atmaprabananada, This happened by few rowdy elements who came to ashram on 7th evening, 6.00 clock.
These rowdy elements climbed up the main gate and came inside and when I was talking to them, trying to pacify and trying to explain, they suddenly started hitting us. Four people holded my hand, pushed me in the ground and one person took a huge stone and thrown at me, and it hit me in forehead.

When the police rushed hearing the news, both the part gave complaints. The police arrested 25 people in Nava nirmana sena.
Nithyananda 5 women disciple and in total 18 were arrested.
A meeting in vidhan soudha was held which was preceded by chief minister sadananda gowda to discuss about the illegal activities going on in Nithyananda ashram. What actions can be taken against Nithyananda, that committee came to conclusion. We will see what was the result of that committee.
About 2 days back the government has ordered the district administration to come up with a detail report with regarding, with respect to the present situation in and around the premises of Nithyananda ashram in Bidadi. Today we received the report and the law minister and home minister and the district minister along with officers we had detail discussions and we have decided to hold the high level enquiry headed by regional commissioner to look in to the matter in detail.
To the district administration and the superintendent of police of Ramnagar to search the premises and draw a and take possession of the ashram property and see that law and order is maintained in the locality.
In this situation, for the past 48 hours Karnataka police is searching for Nithyananda, he knew he can be arrested any moment; he surrendered in the ramnagar court around 3.00pm.
BY 2.55pm Nithyananda came in car and went before judge and said he is surrendering. Komala passed the judgement to remand Nithyananda in custody for one day and he should appear in court next day 11.00am.
In the past 48 hours searched by the police and surrendering of Nithyananda in the court have brought lot of excitement in the court campus.
In this situation, he was brought before the judge in the case of attacking the journalist, he was granted conditional bail. He was barred from going to Bidadi ashram.
Even though he came out on bail, he was again arrested by police.
Nithyananda acted in a way which was disrupting the peace of the people and hence he was arrested, that was the explanation given.
Thirdly we have asked the home department to see the bail issued to the Nithyananda swamiji should be cancelled for that the legal step should be taken immediately.
The arrest of Nithyananda swamiji should be done as early as possible and speedy mechanism should be opted for this purpose.
Behind the attack of Nithyananda many things are hidden, the black mile of politician one side, media direct attack other side, affected women on another side, opposition on becoming the junior pontiff of Madurai aadeenam. All are coming together
What seeds of karma Nithyananda sowed before he is reaping it now, that we are understanding here.
The next day there was a press conference organized to explain the whole attack. Again, this was used as an opportunity by the rowdies and media to create chaos in the aadheenam and it was presented as a law-and-order situation. 10 disciples of Paramahamsa Nithyananda, who tried to defend themselves from the attacks, were arrested.

This illegal order was treated strictly by the High Court, stating that in their self defence, if the disciples had done anything, they were absolutely within the law.
At the first place, it is not forthcoming as to what was the right of the complainant to serve summons purported to have been issued by American Court on the petitioner in such press meet. If the complainant tried to go near the petitioner who was addressing the press meet and if the petitioner asked the complainant not to go near him stating that it would amount to trespass that by itself cannot constitute an offence. If the complainant tried to go near the petitioner and the petitioner had asked his disciples to drive the complainant out of the place, that also would not constitute any offence.
The negative propaganda against Paramahamsa Nithyananda continued even though he was nowhere near the location of the violence created by Suvarna TV.

Lady: I have already been through great deal before I am able to see you, tears are my existence and the people who suffered are countless. As a citizen I am waiting to hear consoling words from you, I have been waiting for over 10 days now. I am very disappointed.
I can understand your situation Ma. Only someone who can stand in your shoes can understand this, I meet 400-500 people every day morning. I cannot compensate for all their misfortunes but my responsibility is that no one else suffers these plight.
I just wanted to hear you say, be strong. A personal word from you to me, I was waiting to hear that.
I asked the entire Karnataka people to be strong in my earlier statement.
Sethuraman speaking, I am witnessing God in your form sir. Before meeting you I was expecting to meet a politician but after talking to you for 2-3 minutes I realize, in spite of your work pressure, you are able to connect and understand people and their problems. My daughter lost her life, I lost any hope and only suicide was my way out. Suverna TV gave us hope and things are moving very quickly. I thank you for everything you have done and there are plenty more to be done. It’s been 18months since the charge sheet has been filed. When will we see the decision? The case is being tossed between lower and higher courts.
CM: One thing I can assure you, since this is a court matter we cannot interfere in it. If there is a government official who is not doing their job to move this along quickly I can take action other than that I cannot interfere in court’s matter. You can come and see me anytime. I meet public from 5:30 am every day.

Yes, this is the scene seen in the Nithyananda ashram in Bidadi yesterday. Nithyananda runs away in the midst of this commotion. Day before yesterday in the press meet Nithyananda had called a press meet with disciples to give explanation about the commotion and fights that arose in the press meet.
Yesterday around 2:00pm. In this press meet, the ordained disciples of Nithyananda Maneeshananda, Achalananda, Shantananda, as always praised Nithyananda, saying Nithyananda is not like that, he is very incarnation of God, and they started saying he is this and that. Also, they accused the press people doing goondagiri on them. The moment the press people there heard this word goondagiri, their pitta rose, their anger rose and started opposing this word. They gravely opposed this word. Here the Nithyananda disciples and those on behalf of Kannada were in both verbal fights and physical assaults on each other.
Kannada protestors broke the ashrams windows and glasses into pieces.
By now hundreds of press reporters were trying to barge into the gates of the ashram to show their protests against Nithyananda. As the incident was going beyond control, police tried to pacify the protestors, when this did not work they started lathi charge.
Also, the disciples of Nithyananda who were arrested for the incidents that happened yesterday and day before were also presented in front of the court. All 8 of them were given bail.
Lawyer on behalf of Nithyananda says, that who were arrested, since this is a bailable case, they have been given bail. Reporter asks what all offences they were arrested for.

What about Nithyananda Swami? 229….has been raised, we will extend and see.
16 protestors who were arrested, were presented in Ramanagar’court of judge V Pushpavati. Their lawyers requested for bail for them. But after the arguments were heard, she ordered all 16 of them to be in jail till tomorrow afternoon. Further arguments Case and counter case is registered. Bidadi police have put a non-bailable IPC 326 case, so this cannot be argued now, it will be heard tomorrow.
Navanirmana Sena’s administrator Raghu who is arrested said he was injured, by the police, so the law officials have strictly ordered Ramanagar SP and Bidadi station’s Inspector should be present in court tomorrow.
All around the ashram is under curfew has been put. Even as all these incidents are happening and cases have been put on Nithyananda, he has disappeared. Police searched all over Nithyananda ashram and could not find him. Don’t know when he will be spotted and what all acts he will play then.
To maintain peace, Paramahamsa Nithyananda came forward to apply for bail for this bailable offence which itself was put illegally on him. He was arrested instead and kept in custody. To dehumanize him even more, a police force of 700 officers was sent for security purposes – for committing no crime! The next day he was granted bail, only to be rearrested shortly after.

The police kept him in detention and did not allow him to do puja to the Shiva linga which he is supposed to do, as part of the 2000 year old tradition of Madurai Aadheenam as its junior pontiff.
Since he was not able to do the puja, Paramahamsa Nithyananda could not have food (as is the instruction given in the Shaivagamas, an old Hindu scripture) and was kept without food during the entire period.
The Court came down heavily upon this and termed it arbitrary and illegal.
The court is not able to understand how the police officer could register the case for the offences under Section 107 and 151 of Cr.P.C. when those sections do not deal with any offences. They deal only with the preventive measures. Therefore, the registration of the FIR under those Sections is without any authority, as those sections do not deal with any offences. Perusal of the certified copy of the proceedings before the District Magistrate would indicate the further illegality of the proceedings. Based on the FIR, submitted by the respondent-police, the District-Magistrate initiated the proceedings under Section 107 of Cr.P.C.
The police, in spite of knowing this was an illegal action, after Paramahamsa Nithyananda’s release, threatened him not to be in the State and told him to get out, violating the fundamental right of every citizen of India to be in the place of his choice on the soil of India.

In the Guise of Protecting Aadheenavasis, Police Seals the Ashram to Kill Paramahamsa Nithyananda
When the aadheenam was attacked by Suvarna TV, Bidadi police enforced a curfew in the area in the name of ensuring the safety of aadheenavasis from media attacks. This was a ruse to hold His Divine Holiness captive and in the wake of the purposely created “panic atmosphere” to kill Paramahamsa Nithyananda and justify it in the name of “mob fury”. This was the second time the aadheenam was sealed due to attacks on the aadheenam. The aadheenam was attacked by media and goons, and the ones who got beaten up, people residing in the aadheenam, were the ones who had to face the punishment, as a curfew was imposed as per IPC 143, 149.
When IPC 143, 149 are enforced, no more than 4 people can gather in the place where it is imposed. Such a gathering becomes illegal. So it meant that even any gathering inside the adheenam even for guru puja was illegal at that time. Another important point that needs to be noted here is that IPC 149 cannot be applied to a private property. In spite of this, it was applied to the aadheenam, which is a private property.
However, based on a complaint made by Ajith, the chief editor of Suvarna TV channel 16, aadheenavasis and volunteers were taken into custody under sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 341 (wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to breach peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) read with 149 of the Indian Penal Code. Eight of these were later released, while the rest were to be produced before the Ramanagara Judicial Magistrate that night. Three of the aadheenavasis who had been physically assaulted underwent a medical examination at Ramanagara Hospital, as part of the mandatory procedure.
The mistake was on part of the police and administration. As per law, the aadheenavasis could protect themselves from invaders, as was also ruled by High Court, as they passed an order in the favour of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda. No action was taken by the police on the complaints made by the aadheenavasis. Two complaints were registered against the attacking goons and media.
As per the first complaint number[# 0294/2012, Section 154 Cr.P.C with Karnataka State Police in Ramanagara, India], the list of criminal complaints registered against the accused media person Ajith & his henchmen were:
IPC 143, 149 : unlawful assembly
IPC 323: voluntarily causing hurt
IPC 354: outraging the modesty of a woman
IPC 504: criminal Intimidation
IPC 506: malicious Act intended to outrage the religious sentiment
IPB 148: rioting armed with deadly weapons
The second registered complaint [# 300/2012, Section 154 Cr.P.C with Karnataka State Police in Ramanagara, India], stated strict action to be taken against H.Ajith, the bureau in chief of Suvarna TV Channel under the following Indian Penal Codes.
IPC 143 ,149: unlawful assembly
IPC 147, 148: rioting, rioting armed with deadly weapons
IPC 323: voluntarily causing hurt
IPC 324: voluntarily causing hurt to woman with intend to outrage her modesty
IPC 326: causing grievous hurt
IPC 341: wrongful restraint
IPC 354, 509: outraging the modesty of a woman
IPC 427: causing damage or loss
IPC 504: criminal intimidation
IPC 506: malicious act intended to outrage the religious sentiment
Meanwhile, Paramahamsa Nithyananda’s peaceful followers worldwide launched a campaign for justice for the beleaguered spiritual leader, demanding an investigation into the attacks and immediate arrest of all responsible.

FIR Registered against Suvarna News 24×7 for Inciting Violence

Mr. A.C. Narendran, a devotee of Paramahamsa Nithyananda, filed a complaint which was registered as an FIR at the High Grounds Police Station in Cr. No. 0081/2013, against Vishweshwara Bhatta, Chief Editor at Suvarna News; Ranganath Bharadwaj, News Editor at Suvarna News; Ajit Hanumakkanavar, Crime Reporter at Suvarna News; and others.
This FIR has been registered for serious offences u/s 153, 295(A), 298, 107, 506 (B), 120 B, 34 of IPC, leading to breach of peace by provoking one sect of people against another.
This crime is a continuation of the vengeful onslaught of Suvarna TV on Paramahamsa Nithyananda, the most recent one being an open, blatant show of violence on a panel discussion where the panellist wielding a chopper openly issued a threat to life to Paramahamsa Nithyananda and His followers.
From 2010 to 2014, at countless times anti-social paid protests were organized outside Bengaluru Aadheenam (temple monastery complex). The protesters were extremely belligerent, harassing the peaceful residents, threatening their spiritual lifestyle. This endless abuse and ethnic cleansing finally came to an end when the government became stricter with officers such as Ramesh Gowda, who promoted rowdy behaviour, were arrested.
On 5th June 2016, Ramesh Gowda was arrested. He and Bima Shankar Patil (who has been named in 25th November 2017 Hon’ble Court of the Addl Civil Judge and JMFC, Ramanagara Samaya Order) – were the ones organizing paid protests outside Bangalore Aadheenam gate from 2010 to 2014 regularly.
Government cracks the whip, cops fall in line

Further evidence of the strong-arm tactics was evident by cutting off the cable network transmission in the police quarters. Residents said, “This is to keep us in the dark about the developments.”
Barricades were installed in various police quarters and entry was permitted only after establishing the identity of the visitor. When Express asked the police about it, they said, “The quarters are state government properties and we hold full rights to allow or deny entry.”
While Parameshwara claimed earlier that they had no idea who was rallying the constabulary to stage a protest, V Shashidhar, president of Akhila Karnataka Police Maha Sangha, was arrested on Wednesday night.
He has not only been charged under the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA), but also with sedition. This is justified, according to Parameshwara, because Shashidhar is alleged to have said he would stage a ‘sepoy mutiny’. Shashidhar’s wife Poornima, who was protesting at Freedom Park on Saturday, was also arrested as a preventive measure.
A number of non-police organisations which had extended support to the protest, stayed away fearing being booked under ESMA.
In Mandya, a District Armed Reserve constable Ramakrishna was arrested for staging protest. Ramesh Gowda of Ramanagaram, was held for donning police uniform and protesting.
