Ma Nithya Jnanatmananda Swami was born into a very traditional Tamil Brahmin family. She grew up as a topper in school, did her engineering in India and continued computer science in the US. She got her dream job as software engineer in Microsoft Corporation in Seattle. She worked there for 3 years before taking up the life of aadheenavasi.
On June 7th, 2012, Suvarna News Channel had hired thugs to vandalise ashram and harass ashramites. She was harassed sexually by some of the gundas.
