Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam has served a legal notice to Tamil bi-weekly magazine Kumudam Reporter for the series of utterly false, malicious and defaming articles published on His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda and his devotees, from 2 March 2010 onwards.
Separate legal notices were served to Sri Arjun Sampath, leader of Hindu Makkal Katchi and Advocate Shiva for making statements in utterly bad taste, specifically to hasten public distrust and hostility towards Paramahamsa Nithyananda in the said Kumudam Reporter magazine.
Subject to the replies of the notice recipients, Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam might be compelled to consider further civil/criminal legal proceedings against them
Acting on a criminal defamation complaint filed by His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda, the 9th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Bangalore has summoned 22 different individuals involved and associated with the highly popular Tamil magazine, Kumudam Reporter to answer charges of criminal defamation of Paramahamsa Nithyananda.
Passing the Order on 23-May-2012, Justice Rudolph Perriera has noted in his Order that upon examination of Paramahamsa Nithyananda and after perusing the voluminous and extensive criminal complaint, the Judge was satisfied that the accused had acted with a common and collective intention to harm the reputation and character of Paramahamsa Nithyananda without any just or valid cause.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda had complained to the Court on 28-Apr-2012 that beginning 11-Mar-2010, Kumudam Reporter magazine had engaged in the most blatant, gross, malicious and severe defamation of His character and reputation by publishing faked and never-happened interviews, false stories, contrived narration, ghost allegations, bogus complaints and the like.
The accused have been summoned to answer charges of having committed criminal defamation of Paramahamsa Nithyananda. The accused are Mr.Selvarangam, publisher, Pa Varadaraj, Managing Director, Paul Anthony Raj, Printer, Illangovan, Pandiarajan, Bala Jyothi, S.Mohan, Vettai Perumal, S.Subramanian – editorial staff; and authors, Charu Nivedita, Ira Murugesan, Vetri, Pushkin Rajkumar, Nandan, Vijay Anand, Vai Kadiravan, Pa Tirumalai, Mathew Raj, Pa Ekalaivan, Bala, Rajini Kanth and M.P.Gajaraj.
The criminal complaint was filed on 26-Mar-2012. The Judge had taken cognizance of the case on that date and had heard Paramahamsa Nithyananda on 28-Apr-2012. Finally, the Judge has noted that the extensive materials presented in the complaint had persuaded him to summon all the persons accused in the complaint.

In a historic move that marks His first ever personal legal action against the religious aggressors, who have been persecuting Him and the organization for over two years, His Divine Holiness, Paramahamsa Nithyananda filed His first criminal defamation Complaint today at the Bangalore District Court.
The complaint was filed before Justice Rudolph Ferreira against the Tamil bi-weekly magazine Kumudam Reporter, for publishing a series of utterly false and perverted articles crossing all boundaries of journalistic or even human ethics, in the aftermath of the release of the defamatory morphed video in March 2010. One of the chief respondents being Charu Nivedita, the infamous soft porn writer, Kumudam Reporter and its editorial team has a lot to answer for in the proceedings to come. Through a 600-page submission, Nithyananda’s counsel Sri KV Dhananjay filed the matter in open court while Nithyananda was personally present, and obtained a date of 28 Apr 2012 as the date for the next proceeding.
