Freedom of speech, freedom to teach: DENIED

After being released on bail from His illegal imprisonment, His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda is denied the basic human right to freedom of speech.

After 53 days of illegal imprisonment, the police silently submitted a memo to the court, admitting they have no evidence (which can be read by clicking here) against His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda.

On 12 June 2010, Paramahamsa Nithyananda was finally granted bail. But not without several conditions. He was denied the basic human rights to freedom of speech. The bail conditions explicitly said that He could neither teach nor preach though it is completely unrelated to the accusation against Him.

Below are the atrocities Paramahamsa Nithyananda went through during this time:

1. The morphed video was created as a form of character assassination to destroy His public image as He was growing in popularity.
2. Attempts were made to kill Him and his disciples by throwing petrol bombs.
3. His ashram and temples were vandalized, broken, and burnt.
4. He was illegally arrested.
5. He was put in a woman’s jail cell to make a mockery of Him and hurt the religious sentiments of His devotees.
6. He was denied food for 7 days during the 53-day illegal imprisonment.
7. He was forced to sleep on the wet floor.
8. A tile cutting machine, which made shrill sounds, and heavy floodlights that blind the eyes were used during the night to torture him in His jail cell.
9. Attempts were made to forcefully connect him to a polygraph machine with narco injection, which is a direct violation of International Human Rights treaties and Article 20(3) of our constitution.
10. The aadheenam trust bank accounts were illegally frozen so that those who stood by Him and stayed in the aadheenam could not even have basic food to survive and to limit his ability to defend himself legally.
11. His passport was illegally impounded.
12. Fake, defamatory articles were widely spread all over the internet, TV, and newspapers about Him and His sanyasis.
13. In the end, even his basic rights to freedom of speech were denied.

The harassment continues on till this day. Despite all the persecution, Paramahamsa Nithyananda does not let this detract from His mission to serve humanity.
