During the Ardha Kumbha Mela celebrations in 2007, Paramapujya Paramahamsa Sri Nithyananda Swamiji was coronated as the Mahamandaleshwar of Mahanirvani Peeth (Mahanirvani Akhada), the most ancient apex body of Hinduism.
In 2012, he was also coronated as the 293rd Guru Maha Sannidhanam (pontiff) of Madurai Aadheenam, the world’s most ancient spiritual organization. Accepting the responsibility, he pledged to bring great fame to Madurai Aadheenam and the temples belonging to it.
Already recognized as a powerful crusader for integrated Sanatana Hindu Dharma, he has brought to these roles a new vigor and vitality, while drawing strength from both the organizations’ vast network and solid spiritual base. Under his spiritual guidance, over a dozen initiatives have been launched on a mass scale, including the restoration and preservation of ancient Hindu temples, spreading awareness online about Hindu culture, and reaching the benefits of traditional medicine to the people.
