Sun Television Network, a by-product of the anti-Hindu theology, targets practicing Hindus across spectrum, be it corporate, hospitals, or religious institutions. Using its well-established presence, Sun Television Network consistently and repeatedly telecasts malicious, sexually manipulated videos, derogatory spoofs, obscene graphics, inciting social and personal hatred and violence targeting especially aboriginals.
In 2010, Paramahamsa Nithyananda became the target of this TV channel. The COO of Sun TV, Hansraj Saxena was involved in the extortion and blackmail of the administrators of Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam. They intimidated the aadheenavasis (residents of the monastery) that if Rs 100 crore is not paid, they will have to face the brutal attacks and defamation that might follow by the airing of the morphed obscene video. When their demand was not met, they released a small section of the CD in the SUN TV News Channel, which was repeatedly shown and which was later picked up by other media houses.
This resulted in multiple forms of physical attacks and media attacks from across the nation which victimized innocent devotees and volunteers of the aadheenam (monastery). The main target, Paramahamsa Nithyananda was tortured inhumanely, denied basic human rights and had his image completely assassinated by a continuous stream of false news and videos.

Following this attack, the president of Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam, Sri Nithya Atma Prabhananda filed a complaint against Sun TV to the Chennai City Police Commissioner. Filing of the complaint against Sun TV coincided with the resignation of Dayanidhi Maran, (family member of Maran family) and owner of Sun TV Network as Union Textile Minister after coming under the CBI scanner for his role in the 2G scam.

1. The crime charged is of the highest magnitude and the punishment prescribed by law is of extreme severity
2. There is likelihood of the petitioner interfering with witnesses for the prosecution or otherwise polluting the process of justice.
3. The antecedent of the petitioner who applied for bail has shown bad record, particularly a record which suggest that he is likely to commit serious offense while on bail and
4. The court may reasonably presume some evidence is available against the petitioner to connect him with the crime.
