Tiruchengode Aadheenam

The first real settlement of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda was in Erode, in a village called Avathipalayam on the banks of sacred Kaveri in Tamilnadu, South India.  It was in a place called ‘Bhavani sangamam’, the confluence of three rivers. It was here that the Avatar established the Adi Nithyanandeshwar temple, the first temple of the Mission. This was where His first public Satsaṅgs (spiritual talks), gatherings, meditation programs, pūjās and homas were held. Many People reached out to Parmahamsa Nithyananda arriving at the Aadheenam.  Also, Paramahamsa Nithyananda reached out to people in the surrounding villages, sometimes even riding pillion on a bicycle all the way to heal a devotee.

The Avatār entered Avathipalayam in Erode and rested his body for a few days in a piece of land that had a small four-pillared structure in it. In His vision He saw a temple similar to the Kashi Vishwanathan temple that would be established here. The father of the land-owner was one Pongianna Gounder who is no more. The four-pillared structure was his Samādhi. The land- owner was suffering from a deadly skin disease that had defied all medication until then. One day, Pongianna Gounder appeared in his dream and told him that a Sādhu was resting in his Samādhi on their land, and that he should take healing from him for his skin disease. The owner rushed to the Samādhi and beheld The Avatār. The Avatār gave him a handful of sand from the Samādhi to apply on the skin.  This was one of the earliest healing miracles of The Avatār as the owner recovered completely. He donated the piece of land to The Avatār, not wanting Him to move from the land. After building a small Aadheenam, His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda expanded his services of conducting meditation programs in other Aadheenams, travelling around the village healing the people, and also performing poojas and homas.

In this place, Paramahamsa Nithyananda healed a person call Danasekar from severe cancer. The doctors told Danasekar that he would not live more than 6 months. but after his healing, over 18 years now, he is living with complete health without having any symptoms of cancer. Like this in one and half years of Paramahamsa Nithyananda physically living there lot of services to the locals had been done. and till now His Disciples who are taking care of that Aadheenam are continuing the same services now! 

The Aadheenam was inaugurated on April 14, 2001. Upon its inauguration, Paramahamsa Nithyananda began enriching the community one by one.

After the release of the morphed video displaying fabricated images of His Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda, the sanyasis living in Erode Aadheenam have been brutally attacked time and time again, even until 2018. The first incident happened in 2012. Ma Nithya Jyothikananda Swami was attacked by local gundas who trespassed into the aadheenam, surrounded her and abused her physically, threatening her to evacuate the land else she would be killed. When tried to take photo evidence and make emergency calls, they snatched her phone from her hands. For six days, she and another adheenavasi were admitted to the hospital while they filed their police complaints.

Two years later in 2014, Sri Nithya Shuddananda Swami was blackmailed to pay 50 lakh rupees by rowdies. They threatened that if he does not pay this amount they will spread lies about Paramahamsa Nithyananda and him. Sri Nithya Shuddananda Swami immediately took legal action for this blatant plan of extortion.

Finally, even as recently as January of 2018, there was an attack against Ma Nithya Preetananda Swami, orchestrated by high officials in political parties.

The Erode Aadheenam is a heritage site equal to Varanasi in  its potential to liberate people. However, these continuous legal attacks hinder the growth of the area.
