In the birthplace of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda, near to the Arunachaleshwara Temple where He grew up and at the foot of Arunachala, the mountain where Mahasadashiva resides, one can find the spiritual headquarters of Nithyananda Peetham: Tiruvannamalai Aadheenam. Who enters this place is warmly welcomed by Sangha and mesmerized by the onlook of the Holy Mountain. Located in the place where The Avatar descended, the Aadheenam is also known as Avathara Kshetra (energy field) of Living Incarnation Paramahamsa Nithyananda. There is also a banyan tree in Tiruvannamalai aadheenam of the same DNA as the banyan tree in Bengaluru Aadheenam, a form of Mahadeva, like Arunachala. This land belonged in the biological family of His Divine Holiness for a very long time before it was donated to His mission in order to build a temple and continue enriching services.

This Avathara Khsetra of high spiritual significance has been under attack for the last decade in an attempt to stop The Avatar and His mission. It was among the Aadheenams that were ransacked and destructed in an attempt on the life of His Divine Holiness on the 3rd of March 2010, the day after the morphed video of His Divine Holiness. Not finding the one they were looking for, the hired locals and anti-Hindu elements destroyed the property and assaulted its residents. In November 2012, HR&CE (Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments) attempted to falsely present Nithyananda Peetham, Tiruvannamalai Aadheenam, a private monastery property, as a public temple to take over the administration, attacking its cultural heritage. After proving that the Aadheenam organises yoga and meditation programs for everyone of any religious background, and that also the deities in the aadheenam are only for personal worship of the residents and program participants, The Hon’ble High Court order clearly said that Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam Trust Deed and its objectives show that it is a Public Charitable Trust and therefore does not fall under the purview of HR&CE. The Trust Deed clearly shows that the institution is open to all people, irrespective of caste, creed or religion. The various construction activities on the premises are in accordance with the objectives of the Trust to spread meditation, yoga and provide various social services to the public at large.
