The Shaastras, the source-books that form the core and foundation of Sanatana Hindu Dharma, are the Vedas and the Agamas, which emerged directly from the lips of Sadashiva, the all-knowing, all-pervasive Supreme Source.
Pure science is Vedas, and Upanishad (the essence of Vedas) are where the sacred truths are explained. Agamas are the scriptures where the applied science, the applied technology, the sacred lifestyle is expanded upon, including precise day-to-day living details, like a manual. Together, Vedas and Agamas give us the science and the lifestyle of living and manifesting Sadashiva and His Shaktis.
āgatāṃ śivavaktrebhyo gatāṃ ca girijāśrutau ।
matāṃ śrīvāsudevasya tasmādāgama ucyate ॥(That which has come from Śiva’s mouth and directly heard and received by Devi Girijā (Pārvati), which has been ordained by Śri Vāsudeva (Viṣṇu) to govern the world, therefore that is called Agama.)
~ Svacchanda Tantra
Agamas are the largest body of scriptural texts available to humanity in any religion on the planet. But while the Vedas have been relatively better preserved, due to the cultural genocide of Vedic India by invaders, only 117 Agamas are available today.
Paramapujya Paramahamsa Sri Nithyananda Swamiji has been successfully retrieving the untraceable Agamas and also translating them into English to spread this great knowledge around the world. A library of Hinduism, containing over 18 million books, has been envisioned, where the original and authentic sacred scriptures will be preserved for the benefit of humanity. Palm-leaf printing machines work through the day and night to ensure that not only the knowledge, but the very format itself, is preserved in in its sacred ancient form without distortion.
Right from the year 2004, Paramahamsa has been travelling the world, revealing the core truths of a range of sacred scriptures including Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Shiva Sutras and Patanjali Yoga Sutras, among others.
