Second mass attack on Sanyasis (Hindu monks) of His Divine Holiness Paramahamasa Nithyananda, at Nithyananda Peetham, Chennai, South India by Hindu extremist militant groups. Physical injuries sustained. Property and infrastructure destroyed beyond repair.
On 18th June 2017, in broad daylight at around 10.30 am, the Hindu attackers planned their second mass attack on the Sanyasis (Hindu monks) at Nithyananda Peetham, Trishulam Aadheenam, Chennai (South India). Their sole aim was to STOP the Hindu temple from being established and stop the services offered and expel the Hindu Sanyasis from the land. The Sanyasis had just finished their morning spiritual routine and were having their breakfast.
Suddenly a commotion was heard outside. As the commotion caught everyones attention the sanyasis stepped out of their dining area to have a look at what instigated the commotion. As the inmates of the Trishulam Aadheenam stepped out, the attackers had achieved their target, so that they could attack the sanyasis easily.
Around 150 of them entered the living areas of the Sanyasis, hurling heavy boulder stones at high speed directly at the Sanyasis who were by now trying to run for their lives to protect themselves in the nearest shelter and protect themselves. The attack lasted for over an hour till the police arrived. The attackers used metal rods, wooden rods, other sharp objects, stones and anything they got in their hands to attack.
Several Sanyasis shed their blood but had to remain where they were lest their very life would be taken away by the attackers. The entire property was damaged: Two cars were smashed down and overturned; two mobile temple vehicles were smashed down, directly abusing the Hindu deities they were carrying. All the CCTV surveillance cameras were specifically smashed, the Sanyasis laptops, PCs, printers and mobile phones were destroyed. All the doors, windows, large water tanks and furniture were destroyed. The cooked food was overturned to the ground.
In addition, the attackers connived and filed a false complaint against Sri Nithya Yogaswarupananda, a male Sanyasi for eve-teasing one of their wives. The Sanyasis were shocked with disbelief at the false complaint. Helplessly, everyone stood watching their own Sanyasi being taken away by the Police.
The Sanyasis filed a police complaint against the attackers. This time, the police could not but take action because the threat and damage were irrefutable.

Mobsters – Attacking the Temple and the sanyasis who were doing Pooja in the temple. The Sanyasis didn’t even have time to safe guard themselves, even to come out to close the door. One devotee took the hit and closed the door to protect our sanyasis. They were shaking the whole tent and brought it down.
You can see how again they targeted the CCTV camera. They aimed at finishing our life’s. They didn’t want to leave any evidences.
