In a year after the morphed video aired on SUN TV, in a horrifying article called “Swamis and Demons” DNA writers completely loose all journalism ethics by publishing fictitious statements, claiming they were made during His Divine Holiness, Paramahamsa Nithyananda’s interrogation with the police.

DNA is the second most-read English broadsheet in Mumbai and the most populous city in the country with 506,000 readers in Mumbai alone. IRS also ranked DNA as sixth among the top ten English dailies in India. So the pivotal role and influence played by this journal in shaping public opinion is undeniable.
In the scenario, when a fake morphed video was created and released to defame His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda, the victimized spiritual community constantly fought for justice at the court providing ample evidence to prove Paramahamsa Nithyananda as innocent, while the media continued to character assassinate His Divine Holiness and His spiritual mission by repeatedly publishing false, manipulated content.
After having produced enough evidence against the fake video that was created and published featuring Paramahamsa Nithyananda and His disciple Ranjitha; DNA dares to make fictitious, basesless statements. The journalist covers his back by clarifying in the article “If the Bangalore Police are to be believed….” before making false statements. Knowing clearly that the article has no truth to it; the word play drives everyones’ mind into forming a wrong opinion about Paramahamsa Nithyananda. Using such low level sinister means to increase their TRP at the cost of maligning the character of a public figure. The damage these wrong opinions can create is humongous, considering the resistance that the reader would develop to all the enriching and empowering activities, carried out in reviving Sanatana Hindu Dharma (Hinduism ) by His Holiness.
The need of the hour is to take immediate action to put complete stop to such unchecked, irresponsible journalism being practiced in our country today.
