Deccan Chronicle is a leading English newspaper daily in South India with a circulation of over 10.8 lakh (1.08 million) readers for many decades. Naturally, the minimum standards of the Ethics of Journalism are the least expected from its press house. Yet, it qualified itself in the lowest rung of sensationalistic yellow tabloid journalism, when it joined the dirt-wagon of the illuminati of Hindu militant theologists, pressing a media trial against Paramahamsa Nithyananda and Hinduism; thus incriminating a public hate campaign against the Hindu religious leaders.
In this atrocious article, Deccan Chronicle uses the stereotype tactic of sensational headlines to intice the readers into creating a public hate for His Divine Holiness, when it says ‘if released He may influence victims…”. However, the court made no such assertion. This statement implies that victims are existing and they have a threat from him, without substantiating any words to justify this blatant ridiculous lie.
FACT – ILLEGAL ARREST BY CID SLAMMED BY THE COURT
In fact, the court was not even involved in the illegal imprisonment of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda and they later slammed the CID for imprisoning Him without any victims, evidence, or witnesses. Freely interpreting the law, the CID took the liberty to illegally arrest Paramahamsa Nithyananda without an arrest warrant.
When they were questioned by the court about not having any named victims in the case, they frantically made a plea to the public in newspapers for a victim to depose. Of course, no victims came forward as it is a fake case. After keeping Him in prison illegally for 53 days without a victim, the courts ordered Paramahamsa Nithyananda to be released. Such a gross misuse of the justice system by the CID is criminal and inhumane.
Rather than commenting on the misconduct and brutality of the CID, Deccan Chronicle intentionally tries to make the Indian court an opponent of Paramahamsa Nithyananda. They have skilfully twisted the story to influence the minds of the public and make them believe that the courts have deemed Him guilty. The fact that the case has not even made it to court has been conveniently left out. By posting such fallacies, Deccan Chronicle aims to make Paramahamsa Nithyananda a public enemy. When such a revered and influential Guru is made to be a villain in the public eye, society not only turns against Him but all Hindu Gurus as well. When Hindu Gurus are persecuted at large, the public naturally forms an Hindu terrorist rhetoric, eventually leading to the ethnic cleansing of an entire population.
