What reason would 30 plus news channels have to barge into a peaceful, thriving socioreligious community center? What were they looking for? The Media Mafia, Anti-Social and Anti-Hindu elements go to any level to obliterate Sanata Hindu Dharma.

Varanasi – The Oldest Living City
According to the Vamana Purana, the Varuna and the Assi rivers originated from the body of the primordial Person at the beginning of time itself. The tract of land lying between them is believed to be ‘Varanasi’, the holiest of all pilgrimages. The word ‘Kashi’ originated from the word ‘Kas’ which means to shine.
This is one of the world’s oldest continually inhabited cities, and one of the holiest in Hinduism. Pilgrims come to the ghats lining the Ganges to wash away sins in the sacred waters or to cremate their loved ones. It’s a particularly auspicious place to die, since expiring here offers moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth).
Known in different eras as Avimukta, Varanasi and Kashi, meaning “where the supreme light shines”, this great north Indian center of Shiva worship has had more than 3000 years of continuous habitation.
Manikarnika Ghat – Pilgrimage Place and Community Center for Disciples of Paramahamsa Nithyananda
Manikarnika Ghat carries a special significance for followers of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda as this is the place where He experienced a conscious death experience during his time as a wandering monk. It is a pilgrimage place for followers of His Divine Holiness who visit the aadheenam here as well as the Ghat.
In this powerful energy field, Nithyananda Sangha was operating a Satsang center run by sanyasis (Hindu monks) of Nithyananda Order. The location was flowering, connecting with the local community through various socio-religious activities including televised daily Satsangs by His Divine Holiness, puja, free anna daan (food), free homeopathic medicines, free schooling for poor children, and they were on the verge of inaugurating a new vidalaya, school for children. The doors were always open for people to sit in meditation, connecting with the Oneness space of Mahasadashiva.
Anti-Hindus, Sent by Sun TV, Were Looking to Harm Paramahamsa Nithyananda, Ruin His Name, and Destroy His Mission
Then the unexpected happened – the religious persecution of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda began. On March 5, 2010, just two days after the well-orchestrated scandal, involving a morphed video of His Divine Holiness, broke out, the prestitute media began spreading rumors that His Divine Holiness has taken secret shelter in Varanasi. Based on these rumors, around 30-40 news channels stormed into the aadheenam building at Manikarnika Ghat.
When the media houses barged into the aadheenam building, they were agitated and restless – it was obvious that they came with a purpose: to find Paramahamsa Nithyananda. Were they simply looking for Paramahamsa Nithyananda to spread more black propaganda about Him and His Sangha to sell their newspaper or was something more sinister at work here? They forcibly entered into one part of the ashram, illegally taking photos to further concoct the stories that they released the next day. Creating sensationalism in the news is big business and has become the source of bread butter for these journalists. It is also a known fact that certain anti-Hindu organizations fund the media houses.
The next day many media houses were quoting that a brothel house is being operated from the very building with which so many spiritual activities were being conducted, benefitting the community. The aadheenam building was always open and people can see the activities happening inside and who is coming and going but the news media was not interested in the facts; they were interested in harming the life and mission of the great leader for reviving Sanatana Hindu Dharma, Paramahamsa Nithyananda.
The resident sanyasis now understood how fake news is framed. They were repeatedly hounded by local media, who continued to misquote, twist facts and utter abusive comments about His Divine Holiness and His sanyasis who were running the Sangha there. These same prestitutes were also pressurizing the police to seal the building in which they were successful.
All these years later, they are still fighting the case in the court.
Irrespective of the District court order until now, the trial by the administration continues; they do not execute even the judiciary decisions to allow the most sincere spiritual and social services to happen.
Paramahamsa Nithyananda, being the voice of Hindus, had to bear the wrath of the government and the media, victimized for his dedicated service towards the revival of Sanatana Hindu Dharma.
Sri Nithya Atmapujananda Swami recounts the painful experience where the Varanasi aadheenam was shut down, and the community affected, because of the media’s Black Propaganda against Paramahamsa Nithyananda and the blatant blackmail and threats he subsequently suffered due to the Media Mafia. He also shares the deep connection to his Guru and the immense gratitude for the highest understandings gifted to him by Paramahamsa Nithyananda.
Video Transcript: Suffering Imposed By Media on Hindu Sannyasi in Varanasi
Nithyanandam. I am Sri Nithya Atmapujananda Swami. I am here to tell everyone what I went through: how I had to face the attack and what happened to me during the scandal time in 2010.
I am a graduate. I was doing my job. It was after listening to Swamiji, after doing his program, I decided to take the monastic life: to serve the society, from leaving a life of selfishness to selflessness by serving others, the people as Swamiji taught us.
In that place (Varanasi Aadheenam), I was very happily living, involving myself with all the services. People who are at the end part of their life used to come to the Varanasi Ashram to do their Seva before their leaving the life because it is a Moksha Kshetra (sacred pilgrimage place for liberation). Manikarnika Ghat is the most sacred place for leaving the body and for cremation as per Hindu Shastra.
Swamiji as the reviver of Sanatana Hindu Dharma, the greatest leader, the voice of Hindus, wanted all the services and sevas to be sincerely done for the seekers, for the people. We were teaching the poor children by running a school. We were giving free food to the people, the visitors, and also to people who come with the dead bodies. We used to distribute free medicines to the people. All the services were going on, but what happened on the day of scandal happened.
Immediately rumors spread that Paramahamsa Nithyananda has taken secret shelter in Varanasi. That building (Varanasi Aadheenam), which was open from all sides in the sense that it can be visible from outside; you can see who are the people staying, what they are doing. It was not a completely closed building, and I was leading, all of us were living a pious life and continuously working for Sanatana Hindu Dharma and serving people.
Suddenly, when the media of 30-40 journalist…they barged into the building. They didn’t ask for permission. They used abusive words, asking questions as if we have no authority to stand, even as if we are lesser human beings by using foul language. Without the authority to search the building, they wanted (and did) to search the whole building but they found nothing.
The next day, they made my life miserable by publishing news that a brothel is being run from that building. Now, what will I say to whom? After this news, the anti-social elements took the benefit of it. They took as that time the attack happened in all the Ashrams (monasteries) of Swamiji. So same way, this news spread and the Anti-Social elements tried to attack. I had no option but to save my life. I locked the building and run away to save from the attack. I had no money I had no place to live.
Continuous bad news, continuous wrong news negative news. After listening, if I give my identity also, who will help me? To save myself, I had to live a life where I have to cut my hair and change my facial appearance so that people don’t recognize me. I didn’t have money so I have to go and beg for money. But knowing the continuous bad news, people won’t give me money also. They looked towards me with hateful eyes as if I am rejected by society. My health got reduced. I had two three diseases. Piles started catching up. The whole body started paining. There was nobody to take care, no money to take care. Many days I used to live by the side of Ganga; sometimes no food, just living with the simple water. Because, anything, any identity I say, I will only get hate and reprisals as usual from people. Because the media will go to the places where I used to go to worship. They continuously wrote negative about Swamiji and the Ashram (Varanasi Aadheenam) over there. While I had no fault, neither we did anything wrong, nor Swamiji had ever done anything wrong, I was not able to lead the life of simple Sanyasi for which I sacrificed everything. Without food, without health…for days I didn’t have a place to live, because they locked the building.
The government locked the building and when later on we went and approached the government – they denied. even when I will go to the district magistrate they won’t meet me forget about asking me to sit they will keep me waiting for hours will make me stand for hours .they do not want to entertain me as if we are the worst people in the society. This is the behavior of the local administration…even we got the order in our favor from the court (that we can reopen the aadheenam) from the District Judge. With the same order, when I went to the D.M (District Magistrate), the D.M would throw the order in front of me. This kind of misbehavior they have done to me. No respect at all; just treated me like a dog, street dog. The Hindu Sanyasi being treated like a street dog and I have no fault. I have not committed any crime. I just lived a simple Sanyas life, followed the words, teachings of my Guru. I never gave any problem, only supported, helped people. This (happening) in the land of Varanasi, in the land of Kashi, which is meant for the sanyasis, I was at the receiving end of all miseries and all problems.
It was the blessing of Swamiji that I am still alive, I am still surviving and I am talking to you. If I have survived, you can say that it is only because of the blessings of Swamiji, nothing else. This life which was cruel with us because the media made it, the people followed media, the administration followed media; nobody wanted to know the truth, listen to the truth or accept the truth. This is what I had to face and I wanted to tell everyone. Nithyanandam.

Varanasi Court Restores Property To Nithyananda Devotees
26 September 2012
The Varanasi District Court yesterday ordered the Varanasi Municipal Corporation and related authorities to hand over a property in Varanasi’s Manikarnika Ghat to its rightful owners, Manikarnika Seva Trust, which is managed and operated by the devotees of spiritual leader Paramahamsa Nithyananda.
Although the property was earmarked for an ashram over a year ago by Manikarnika Seva Trust, it had come under litigation when the local municipal corporation, misguided by some miscreants, illegally encroached upon and locked the property, putting a stop to the charitable activities conducted by the trust. As a result, the Trust was forced to file a case in the Varanasi High Court.
Hon’ble Judge Yogesh Tripathi, who passed the landmark judgment, admonished the local authorities for acting in haste and in a wrongful manner and ordered immediate restoration of the property possession to the Trust.
Manikarnika Ghat on the banks of the Ganga in Varanasi is considered sacred by lakhs of Hindus. The spot also carries a special significance for Paramahamsa Nithyananda’s followers worldwide as the place where their spiritual guru underwent a mystic experience of conscious death during his time as a wandering monk.

THE COURT ORDER
5 April 2013 – Varanasi
Court orders attachment of properties and vehicles of District Magistrate, SP in contempt of Court filed by Manikarnika Seva Ashram trustees and devotees of Swami Nithyananda
In a significant development, the Court of the Additional Civil Judge of the Second Senior Division ordered the attachment of the properties and vehicles of the District Magistrate (DM) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Varanasi, in a case of contempt of court filed against them by Manikarnika Seva Ashram trustees who are devotees of Sri Nithyananda Swami and have been doing various spiritual and social service activities with the support of the ashram.
The Trust property has been in the possession of the Trustees of Manikarnika Seva Ashram since 1945 and the Trust has been conducting various social service activities in the same. In April 2010, the district and police officials took illegal possession of the property and put the board of the local police station on the same. On the opposition of the locals, the lock was removed on 4 November 2011. However, on 16 November 2011, the local police again locked the property. The Manikarnika Seva Ashram trustees filed a case against this illegal action. The Upper District Magistrate passed an order in the case giving back the possession of the property to the Trust and restraining any government or police officials from interfering with the property. It also ordered the removal of the lock on the property. On the basis of this order, the Trust appealed to the District Magistrate to open the lock, but to no avail. In response, the Trust had to file a contempt of court against the government and police officials, who did not respond to the appeal either. So, the Court ordered attachment of the properties and vehicles of the District Magistrate (DM), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and other authorities.
