Contrary to his wishes, Vinay Bharadwaj, learned that 1) the minor whom he raped would not keep secret–as he quilted and pressured her to—what he did to her and 2) that the family of the minor was ready to bring him to justice and Vinay started to lay the groundwork for a defense and developed false accusations against His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda and his mission. In July 2009, he colluded with Aarthi S. Rao, a friend of Vinay and former devotee insinuating that Paramahamsa Nithyananda Swami had abused some of his followers, although no one had made any such allegations at the time. A glimpse into their scheming can be seen in a July 2009 email written by Aarthi Rao and later produced by Vinay Bharadwaj at his deposition in the below mention California civil case.
The email also has Aarthi expressing concern over the possibility of false cases being foisted on Paramahamsa Nithyananda and incidentally revealing the very modus operandi that would be used in the next couple of months to frame a false case around him:
“Swami has had relationships with many women… Have you had any such experience?”
“I have no direct knowledge of any of these things you are saying. In all my personal experiences, nothing like this has happened to me.”
