Broke and jealous Douglas MacKallor the ex husband of Ms Sharmila Devi (Ma Praba) begins spreading lies about Swami Nithyananda, alleges tantric practices done by his devotees and claims there are women around Swami Nithyananda. Being unemployed, he found the growing mission of Swami Nithyananda to be an easy target for blackmail and extortion if he could malign the young Indian swami Swami Nithyananda. Praba AKA Sharmila is shocked hearing the rumors created about her by her husband including false fire alarms in meditation programs triggering emergency help for non existent fire accidents. Douglas finally leaves the Duarte ashram in LA.
“My ex husband planned the attack against Swamiji.”
The moment Ma Prabha told me this, about a year ago, I blinked back at her, incredulously.
“What?” I asked, her words settling in my brain like rocks on the surface of a lake, rippling wildly in my normally peaceful inner space. “You’re telling me, you KNOW who conspired against Swamiji?”
“Yes,” she answered. “His name is Douglas McKellor, and he co-conspired with two of his deadbeat friends: Vinay Bharadwaj, a convicted rapist and child molester, and Lenin Karuppan, an uneducated driver with some skills in video editing. Douglas was jealous of Swamiji because of my devotion; Vinay was out for revenge when Swamiji kicked him out of the organization and pushed for his prosecution when we all found out he is a rapist, and Lenin did it for the money.”
“Oh my God; why haven’t you gone public with this story?” I was shocked, and a little angry with her for holding this back for so long.
“Ma,” she said, blinking back tears. “How could I have gone public? He had filmed me for weeks and said that if I ever told anybody he was behind this, he would get Lenin to morph a video of me just like he morphed one with Ranjitha. To prevent this lie from being told about Swamiji again, I kept quiet. But now, they’ve finally found a woman willing to make the false claim that Swamiji raped her, Aarthi Rao, so the damage is done. Now I want to tell the world about the monster to whom I was once married.”
From that time, we’ve tried to sit down to do this interview on multiple occasions; now, at last, the time is right.
